John Miller Leaving CBS For NYPD

CBS News senior correspondent John Miller has accepted a new role with the New York Police Department, it was confirmed Thursday.


The network announced Miller's exit on the WCBS evening news. Miller spoke about his new role, which he said was "a great challenge that I hope to rise to."


He also referred to his past role as chief of counterterrorism and criminal intelligence at the LAPD, saying, "I think if you take the LA experience, we had a pretty effective shop there. I think if you look at the New York experience, they have certainly the biggest, most complex and forward-leaning counterterrorism operation of any police department in the world."
